Currently we are seeking a resident Senior Workers’ Compensation Claim Adjuster who is experienced in Indiana and Illinois WC law. Must be proficient in conducting phone and in-person investigations with policyholders and/or injured workers. Territory consists of Northern Indiana and Northern Illinois to include the greater Chicagoland area. The ideal candidate will have experience with a commercial insurance carrier and be customer-focused, in addition to partnering with loss control and marketing underwriters to develop and maintain strong business relationships. The selected candidate will work from home and report to the Claim Manager in the FCCI Midwest Regional Office in Carmel, IN.
The selected Claim Professional will be responsible for the timely, ethical, and effective handling of all assigned claims. A significant number of assigned claims would be investigated in person meeting with injured workers and / or policyholders. The candidate would also be responsible for regular marketing-related contacts with Agencies and accounts located in their geographic territory.
Position requires: • High School degree or equivalent • Four years prior WC claim adjusting experience with a commercial insurance carrier along with the ability to physically investigate accident sites & meet with witnesses and complete field investigations as necessary. • Specialized knowledge of Indiana and Illinois WC law; demonstrated ability to utilize industry best practices to conduct quality investigations and proactively resolve WC claims. • Ability to effectively work with, manage and direct attorneys and experts • Ability to evaluate and resolve exposures with the highest degree of integrity. • Self-motivation with a desire & ability to conduct investigations in the field & ability to generate timely reports • Commitment to delivering superior customer service to all internal and external customers of FCCI • Computer proficiency, excellent verbal and written communication skills & excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently with minimal daily supervision • Valid driver’s license with good driving history • Flexibility for necessary travel & occasional overnight stays In exchange for your time and talents, FCCI provides competitive pay and comprehensive benefits including: • Paid time off program that allows up to 19 days off per year in addition to 11 holidays per year • Car program • 401K program with employer’s contribution made per pay period • Educational assistance • Bonus programs
