OneBeacon is looking for an APD Claims Supervisor for our Canton, MA location. The primary responsibilities:
Develops plans, analyzes results and oversees daily work of direct reports. Reviews and provides direction or recommendations on Auto physical damage claims. Monitors claim quality, customer feedback and claim reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, customer satisfaction and achievement of corporate objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
Ensures execution of claim handling strategies; including appropriate determination of coverage, liability and damages.
Monitors reserving activity to ensure compliance with corporate policy.
Reviews and documents recommendations for claim disposition; including evaluation, negotiation and settlement of claims in excess of staff authority levels.
Reviews and analyzes claim reports to identify and address trends. Recommends strategies to correct adverse trends.
Monitors vendors, independent adjusters and appraisers to ensure service quality.
Manages unit staffing issues; including ensuring appropriateness of staffing levels, creating, implementing and monitoring of performance plans for direct reports.
Anticipates and meets all customer needs (internal and external).
Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for making consistent coverage decisions and damage evaluations. Provides oversight and resolution of issues related to coverage, liability and damages. Makes requests and recommendations on performance plans, salaries, and the hiring and termination of staff.
Requirements:
Strong Auto physical damage claims technical knowledge, and legal exposure in local market is essential. Excellent negotiation, verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Must have the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with agents and business partners. Must interact with internal and external partners and customers. Demonstrated proficiency with computer software including current Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Outlook. Must maintain a high level of accuracy, and provide follow-through on projects. Requires the ability to maintain confidential information and work independently and as a member of a team.
